Dieu Donné means "God Given", once you've experienced the spirituality and natural beauty around us, you will understand why.
Please note that we do not cater for children under sixteen.
Dieu Donné Guest Farm – dating back to 1855 - is a delightful haven of peace and tranquility in the most beautiful valley in South Africa: the picturesque and world renowned wine producing enclave of Franschhoek. We operate a small and intimate family run guest house where personal attention to our clients and their needs are of utmost importance. We pride ourselves on warm welcomes and personal service - we do it all with country hospitality rivaled nowhere. We are just four minutes from the historic Franschhoek village, flanked by the sensational Huguenot and Franschhoek mountains. Excite your visual senses by the sheer breathtaking power and glory of the mountains in front of us.
We have two free standing one bedroom en-suites, one free standing building which houses "The Squirrel Suite" as well as another four rooms all en-suite. Each of our bedrooms has its own individual, unique character with different colour schemes – all natural and rustic with huge showers, pure cotton bed linen, private entrances, covered private patios and views forever…With numerous water features and two dams, a swimming pool and hot tub (jacuzzi) on the farm, the calming and tranquilising effect of water will soon work its magic.
Start your day with a hearty but healthy breakfast in our dining room - built amongst oak trees dating back to 18th century - while we take the hassle out of booking restaurants in the “Food and Wine Capital of South Africa”. Internet facilities as well as wire less connection are available from the office.
There are 101 things to do while in Franschhoek: Over 30 gourmet restaurants and over 40 wine estates. From Dieu Donné most tourist attractions are within an hour: horse riding, trout fishing, golf, hiking, cycling, wine tasting (also on horse back), whale watching, shark cage diving, gourmet meals in award winning restaurants as well as Cape Town and the air port. We have carefully planned and researched 3 different circular drives over 9 mountain passes in the area. For the active ones, walk to town through vineyards admiring the views, and browse around antique shops, the many art galleries, curio shops, boutiques and jewelry stores. You could recharge body and soul with a walk in our private forest – spot wild buck and even lynx in absolute silence! Or, you could just relax by our pool and observe the abundant bird life. For sundowners enjoy a glass of cold wine in the jacuzzi…or a game of chess on your patio observing the ever-changing mountains being draped in a spectrum of different colours.
